We had the pleasure to offer our sound, lighting, and production services for Julie + Steven’s wedding at the lovely Ca Na Xica hotel. This beautiful boutique hotel is situated in the north of the island close to the small town of San Miguel. Both the Hotel and location are just stunning! Set in the heart of Ibiza and surrounded by nature Ca Na Xica offers a unique mix of the traditional local architecture alongside stylish contemporary vibes. Its elegance, ample space and diverse entertaining areas make it an ideal wedding location. It is beautifully and lovingly run by Alex and his wife who offer a warm welcome to all its guests!
THE EVENT
In this event, we had pre-ceremony drinks next to the stunning pool area serenaded by a roaming band consisting of a singer, guitarist and saxophone player.This area was covered with two top of range L-Acoustics X15 speakers as well a digital Midas M32R mixer, mics and wireless systems used where Sennheiser EW500 G3 systems as well as DPA4099 mic for sax and QLXD SM58 wireless mic for the singer.
The guests were then guided to the lovely romantic ceremony area, which was located in a shaded area (very important in Ibiza in the summer heat!) decorated beautifully with floral designs and here we installed four active speakers, which were ideal for the large wedding group of over 150 guests.
During the ceremony, for the Brides entrance and also for the Bride and Grooms exit, we had a magical violinist playing the couples chosen music, using our wireless Sennheiser EW500 G3 system and with a top of the range DPA4099 mic.
At the end of the ceremony, we had also prepared special confetti canons which were perfectly fired at the exact time the couple kissed! The air was then filled with white and red bio-degradable confetti creating a very magical moment and made for some amazing photographs!
After the Symbolic ceremony, guests were then guided back to the pool area where the “roaming” band continued to entertain the happy crowd, alongside beautiful synchronized swimmers in the pool and ariel acrobatics overhead, using our professional high truss structures. At about 19.00 guests made their way to the garden dining area where we had installed our full ambience lighting consisting of abundant fairy lighting on the trees, fairy lighting curtains covering all the stone walls, festoon lighting over the whole dining area and a special fairy lighting canopy over the top table. We installed a large 8m x 4m pro-stage with sound and full equipment for the life 8-piece band “Muzika” who had been flown in from England and added an attractive stage lighting concept to create the perfect celebration ambience.
The sound set up consisted of a surround system covered with four active speakers one in each corner of the reception area to be used during speeches and background music. For the band, we installed a full L-Acoustics sound system with three Kara Line array per side as well as four L-Acoustics SB28. We included a Midas M32 as the main sound mixer, Sennheiser EW300 G3 in-ears for the 8-piece band, as well as taking care of all backline including a Yamaha maple custom drum kit, Nord Stage 2, Yamaha motif X keyboards, Precision Bass and more. The lighting in this area was created with eight LED pars, haze machine as well as six beam 7R moving heads all controlled by a Chamsys lighting mixer.
After midnight, the party then continued in the interior party area with a DJ led party until the early hours of the morning! In this area we supplied a lighting rig with six wash moving heads as well as twelve wireless LED up lighters, a frontal LED screen of 2x2m in front of the DJ as well as 6 Kara line array, 6 SB18 subwoofers and DJ monitors with 2 X15 speakers and 2 SB18 subwoofers. The famous DJ Luciano was the main star of the party making sure the dancefloor was full during the whole evening!
As a finishing touch, in the nearby chillout area just outside the party area we supplied fairy lighting icicles in warm white to create a nice chilled vibe, together with chill-out sofas, an operational bar and some “sweet treat” areas we were able to create the perfect area to have a chat and continue enjoying the evening.
This event was a perfect display of the type and quality of production Ibiza Pro DJ can create, combining an enthusiast team of sound and lighting engineers, a full range of professional equipment together with a very professional planning team, in this case, Lisa from Isla & Smith together with her assistant Julia.
